Monday the 4th: Saints of the Week

*There are only two saints this week, one today and a feast day on Saturday.

*Today is the memorial of St. Charles Borromeo, cardinal who helped implement the Tridentine Reform. He was from Milan, wrote catechisms, looked after the poor and sick during an outbreak of the plague, and died worn out at 46.

*Saturday is the Feast (Gloria, no Creed) of the Dedication of St. John Lateran Basilica. This is considered the home church for the Pope as the Bishop of Rome. It is dedicated to St. John the Baptist and was donated by the Lateran Family, hence the weird name.
