Monday the 20th: Saint of the Day

*St. Fabian is one of two options today; he's listed first and it's Year I of Daily Mass readings, so that's who I'm covering. Fabian became pope in 236 and died as a martyr in 250. His symbol is a dove because a dove rested on his head during the election process, leading them to select him.

A funny quote from St. Cyprian about him, found on catholicsaints.info:

“I was quite happy that his virtuous demise corresponded with the integrity of his administration.”
