Monday the 28th: Saints of the Week

*The list this week is small but mighty.

*Today is the feast of Sts. Simon and Jude, two apostles. St. Jude wrote the eponymous epistle and died in Persia being beaten to death with a club and beheaded postmortem. St. Simon is more vague; we don't know for sure where he preached or died as several places claim him.

*Friday is All Saints Day, a Solemnity and Holy Day of Obligation. This honors all those, known or not, who are in heaven. We ask for their intercession as we continue to work for the Good here on earth.

*Saturday is All Souls Day, praying for those who are on their way to heaven but not there yet and those who we don't know whether they are in heaven. We pray for them today that they may soon reach their reward after purification.
